Presentazione
B. canis is a current and emerging problem for human and animal health in Europe, due to the continuous recording of new cases and outbreaks in the different Member States. As a SIDiLV Scientific Committee, we are identifying B. canis as a disease of large interest, both for its relationship with One-Health (which requires cooperation between veterinarians and physicians), as well as for the transboundary perspective of the disease (where cases are often traced back to the movement of infected dogs to European countries). This workshop has been designed with the aim to provide an overview of current situation about canine brucellosis in Europe, to discuss about the main existing information gaps, and to point out the challenges still pending in properly addressing the disease. Through an open and practical discussion, this workshop aims to provide a starting point for setting the framework for potential strategies to be implemented against the spread of canine brucellosis in Europe.
